Shuttle Launch!

We were able to have unbelievable timing and go do something I have dreamed of doing since I watched the movie Space Camp in the third grade-go watch a shuttle launch! It was great to be able to share this with Maya, even though she won't remember this we'll have the pictures and she'll be able to say she was there, watched it, and enjoyed it (and now if you ask her what the space shuttle does she makes a bsssshhh sound and "flies" her little pointer finger upward!) To learn more about the final flight of Discovery and STS-133 visit the Wikipedia page. Really interesting!

This is where we were-about 11-12 miles from the launch pad, in Titusville. If you click on the picture to make it big and look right to the right of the guy with the red hat (in the bright blue chair) you can see a tiny mound-the launch pad is behind that mound somewhere.
Can't miss what I took a picture of in this one-the Vehicle Assembly Building across the river! It's HUGE-I got to drive past it in 2000.
Closer shot of the VAB
After two hours and barely making the launch window, here it goes!
It was super loud and very bright-kind of like looking at the sun!
