This is just a tiny glimpse of how packed it was...

Happy Fourth!
Yesterday after a delicious barbecue at the Avila's, we headed to base to watch fireworks. Base has a terrible reputation on the fourth-for being incredibly crowded and having to sit for a few hours waiting to get off base. Patrick and I went last year, and it "only" took 45 minutes (what is normally a 15 minute drive) which wasn't too bad, comparatively. So we decided to go this year since hey, why not?

The following pictures are prime example of why I'd really love to get a tripod. Next year, for sure!

This is what happens when you have a squirmy/excited baby in your lap. I still am amused by this picture because it looks like lightning!
Maya LOVED them! So much that I can't believe my collarbone isn't literally bruised today. She was jumping up and down so fiercely on my lap in "excited" mode!

As soon as it was over, she was DONE. Thankfully she konked out in the car (during the 15 minute ride home... they actually had people directing traffic this year so it went extremely smooth!) and then was happy to go right to bed.
She slept till 9 this morning and stayed in her crib till around 930 (between us getting home SO late and me having an awful awful headache... no church today). She's even napping now... poor kid is still exhausted, and mommy thinks a nap is a great idea!

Even when she's screaming, she looks adorable.
