Happy Easter!

We were excited for Patrick to be here this year-he was originally going to be in Arizona from March till May, but then things changed a million times and thankfully he's here. He's missed a couple of Easters due to deployment and before that two years in a row of WTI (the Arizona thing) and then last year we moved days before... so this was the first time we've been able to really enjoy it as a family since, well, before he joined.

The festivities started last weekend when we took Maya to the Easter egg hunt at church.

Story before the hunt began...
Patrick got a little (lot) upset when a boy who was way bigger than Maya snatched an egg that she was reaching to get... she didn't understand or care and just went jovially to the next one, and she was SO proud of every single one she got. Patrick was just being protective daddy but he learned a lesson that it wasn't how many eggs she found... it was her being a good sport and genuinely excited for the fun she had!
Saturday night we dyed eggs! It was my first time in years, and Maya's first time ever... last year it was just impossible with the move and the year before she was 5 months old for Easter. She did really well!
Sunday morning Patrick wanted to go to the sunrise service at church... I wasn't a big fan of getting up that early but we went anyway (and I made up for it with two 2 hour naps through the day!) ...after church we tried to get a picture of the three of us... (I LOVE Patrick's face here)
Thankfully take two was a winner!
Chocolate bunny (that melted a bit... oops), new pajamas, bubbles, wax lips, Jelly Bellies, and underneath the grass was a bunch of new animals!
We did a little Easter egg hunt inside...
She found her Easter basket while she was hunting but could honestly care less. She just wanted more eggs!
Note to self: stick to ONLY the plastic eggs for hiding next year! The dye made a mess of her hands!
So after that was done, she got into her basket and found all of her new animals. Seriously, nothing makes this girl happier.
She veeeery meticulously lines them up. And then moves them and lines them up a different way. All the time.
All in all, we had a really good day! Here's a little video of her finding the eggs-before the camera died. Whoops.
