Christmas 2010
We had another great, cozy, quiet Christmas at home this year-and the first Christmas in this house! We were a little "challenged" as to where to put the tree... our living room is a little small and awkward but we made it work. Maya was awesome at not messing with the decorations and actually loved playing her own variation of "I spy" with ornaments like Dora, an Evie look-alike and a green plastic dinosaur.
This is my awesome attempt at covering my belly, which was super bloated at this point! It worked-we hadn't made the big pregnancy announcement yet and no one figured it out :)
Maya's Christmas jammies this year weren't Christmas-y but they were awesome-little ladybug ones I fell in love with from Gap. She is obsessed with her slippers even now and wears them every day!
As per tradition, we made a delicious Christmas breakfast! I made Alton Brown's Cinnamon Rolls and they were super yummy (though next time I will cook them a little less to make them a tiny bit softer!)
The rest of our feast (which I surprisingly got a lot down-it was so good! Eggs, bacon, toast, and the cinnamon rolls-not the extraordinary spread we had last year but we weren't left with soooo much food this time. Patrick even got fancy and put our OJ in nice glasses!
She did so good opening gifts! Here she is carefully choosing what she wanted to open next:
She got a lot, but most of them were puzzles and learning things (we hit the Melissa & Doug jackpot at TJ Maxx-so we got it all on the cheap) and we stashed a lot of it to get out throughout the year since her birthday is so close to Christmas.
Her favorites, by far, were cheap plastic dinosaurs from Target (she LOOOOOVES them) and this-her Cozy Coupe! Patrick has been antsy to get her one for a long time but she's just recently finally figured out how to maneuver it (we used to stick her in them in the stores to see if she had it figured out yet-haha!) Actually, no kidding, as I type this she's in it (and was just hitting the horn with her head... strange kid)
Here's a video of her opening the dinosaurs... kind of hilarious. I wish I had taped it from the beginning but at least I got this much! We had just thrown them all in a big box, and the reaction you see was the reaction for every. Single. One!
