Monster Bathroom

Once we got back from Michigan we continued on our (neverending) to do list for the house, skipping to a project we started collecting for in Michigan-a new bathroom for Maya! My dear cousin Sara had told me about the collection and the bathroom that she had just finished for her son, and us with our new obsession with monster stuff of course had to check into it. She got it at Kohl's-the problem was by the time we went to get the stuff for it (a day after she told us about it, thankfully we didn't wait any longer) the collection had been clearanced and when I called around to the 5 million Kohls stores in the Detroit/Ann Arbor area, no one had anything.

Thankfully we went to visit some of those stores just in case-tsk tsk, they have lazy employees that didn't really check! Everything we bought was between 60-70% off, so we did this for an unbelievable fraction of what we might have spent. We painted the walls a gutsy green and completely love it! Maya LOOOOVES it as well and that's what matters!

(And, surprisingly, the hardest item to find was the mirror. We looked ALL OVER for one the right size in white, and completely failed. We ended up buying a silver one at Bed Bath & Beyond-which when we got up to pay surprised us at 50% off, so we paid $35 for it-and just painted it white ourselves. THAT was a pain, but that's a whole different story!)

This one is truest to wall color. The ugly dolls went well in here, we thought :)
Here you can see the new floor we put down-just the inexpensive self-stick tile, but it looks a million times better than that ugly linoleum!
